Zimbabwe Carbon Registry
Zimbabwe's national carbon registry, a blockchain-based carbon credit platform built at Thinkn and aligned with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement.
The product
The Zimbabwe Carbon Registry is the national registry behind the Zimbabwe Carbon Markets Authority (ZiCMA) and its public portal at zicma.org.zw. It is a blockchain-based carbon credit platform aligned with Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, and the first public release of a platform that Thinkn is rolling out as national registries in Africa.
My role
I’ve been on the project since it started in February 2025, as part of a small team at Thinkn. I’ve worked across all of it: the public website, the client portal, the admin dashboard, the backend and the smart contracts.
What I built
- Main contributor to the admin dashboard, from shared UI components to review flows.
- Built the multi-language system and redesigned the generated PDF certificates.
- Adapted the full platform, including the smart contracts, for a new country launch.
- Extended the smart contracts with new features and integration tests.
Outcome
The registry is live at zicma.org.zw, and the same platform is being adapted for other countries.
